  • Installation & Configuration of Servers – Windows Server 2003, 2008 & 2012 as per the business requirement.
  • Installation & Configuration of AD & Exchange Servers in the Central & Branch sites to improve performance and optimize network bandwidth.
  • Performing Backup of Active Directory and Exchange Mailbox Databases and sending the media (Tapes) to Off-Site Storage as per the Backup Strategy.
  • Testing the Restore of Backups on monthly basis based on the decision of IT Manager.
  • Creation/Deletion of Mailboxes, Resource Mailboxes, Distribution Lists, Shared Mailboxes, Mailbox delegations in the Exchange Server & configuring the same in the Clients.
  • Creation of Email Contacts for routing Email to External/Partner Organizations and Managing DL restrictions (if the group members are >1000).
  • Configuration of RBAC, Retention Policies and Performing Single Item Recovery, setting Litigation Hold on mailbox based on the operations request.
  • Configuration of Hub Transport Rules & Managing Email Access Polices like Outbound Email restrictions, Active Sync, OWA, OMA, IMAP and POP3 for the departments so that the access would be in accordance with the Email Compliance document of the department.
  • Configuration of Enterprise Email in Mail Applications such as MS Outlook, Windows Live Mail, Outlook Express & other apps as per the Operating System.
  • Performing Physical/Hardware & Software Health Check of Active Directory, Exchange Servers, Email Gateway Servers and Storage boxes on a daily basis.
  • Monitoring the Performance of Exchange Server and Network utilization during peak production hours.
  • Monitoring Isolated/Security/Virus/Anti-Spam Queues in the Email Gateways and the submission of samples to the Vendor in case of False-Positives.
  • Addressing the Trouble tickets raised by users and closing them within the shortest possible time ensuring user satisfactio
  • Troubleshooting Server side issues with Active Directory, Exchange Server and Email Gateways.
  • Isolating & Troubleshooting Email Communication issues (Inbound & Outbound) in the Enterprise by analyzing end-to-end Email flow.
  • Escalating to External Vendors and Internal IT departments (in case of network/system issues) whenever required.
  • Co-ordination with vendors like HP, DELL, IBM for Server Hardware/Firmware Upgrades post the approval of Downtime from IT Management.
  • Sending updated report to our Email relay service provider (3rd party) about new mailboxes and deleted/disabled Mailboxes in our Email Infrastructure.
  • Preparing / Publishing KB articles about Enterprise Email configuration on clients in the Internal IT portal for the Help Desk engineers in the branch sites.
  • Migration project of around 15,000 mailboxes located globally.
  • Execute the mailbox migration process daily based on the region they are located as per the defined schedule and ensure they get completed within the given timeframe.
  • Monitor the migration for failures and collect the logs for further troubleshooting.
  • Enabling Online Archive mailbox for users migrated to Exchange 2010.
  • Resolving Post Migration related end user issues.
  • Handling tickets from helpdesk on Mailbox issues, Outlook, Online Archive mailbox.
  • Co-ordinate with other IT support teams to resolve end user migration related issues.
  • Deployment, administration, troubleshooting and maintenance of Windows servers.
  • Monitoring the overall health and heartbeats of the physical and virtual servers
  • Responding to alerts in log data and when resource utilization crosses critical thresholds
  • Conduct routine checks of monitoring and alert response tools.
  • Patch management- plan, test, schedule and deploy the security patches on production environment
  • Resolve incidents affecting the operation/availability of production systems.
  • Troubleshooting issues both at the server and client ends.
  • Storage and backup, Backup and Restoration, Disaster recovery, Server Replication checks.
  • Submit weekly monitoring reports summarizing critical alerts, thresholds and break-fix
  • Ready to adapt and be flexible in learning other windows technologies.
  • Resolving tickets within the defined SLA.
  • Creating RCA for the critical incidents.
