Design & Development of Object Detection, Tracking & Prediction Algorithm – Anti-Drone Weapon System
Feb 2023 – Present

  • Developed Python/C++ software for object detection, tracking, and prediction using OpenCV 4.x and YOLOv8 (trained on custom drone dataset).
  • Implemented multi-threaded pipelines for image acquisition from surveillance cameras, Pan-Tilt control, and Gun Servo operation.
  • Integrated joystick controls for target selection, locking/unlocking, and fire readiness.
  • Hardware: NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin (AI processing), STM32 FCS for PID-controlled Pan-Tilt and Gun Servo.
  • Protocols: TCP/IP (RTSP + Gstreamer) for camera; RS422 for servo and joystick control.
  • Software: TensorRT, ONNXRuntime, DeepStream for detection; Kalman Filter for prediction; Centroid + IOU for tracking.
  • Developed HMI using PyQT; integrated detection system with FCS.
  • Conducted field trials with 7.62mm and 30mm weapon systems.

Robotics & Simulation Projects

  • ROV Camera Mount Simulation (Vortex S/W, Jul–Sep 2022): Imported CAD models, mounted cameras, and developed Python control programs.
  • Azure IoT Edge Development (Sep–Nov 2022): Built Python modules for transformer temperature monitoring via MQTT and MODBUS protocols.
  • TCP/IP Simulator for ROV PLC Control (Nov–Dec 2022): Led 3-member team; developed C# based TCP/IP simulator for PLC communication.
  • Computer Vision for 360° Panorama & Birds Eye View (Dec 2022 – Jan 2023): Multithreaded C++ implementation using Gstreamer; camera calibration, homography, and image stitching.

Embedded Software Development – Weapon Systems

  • Artillery Weapon Systems (NXP LPC4357): Developed multitask FreeRTOS software with UART/SSI drivers, synchronization using semaphores & mutexes, servo control with FOC algorithm, and testing via LDRA & Polyspace.
  • STM32 Embedded Systems: Device driver development (GPS, GSM, MEMS, EEPROM), state machine design, dead reckoning, and live location reporting via TCP/IP sockets and MySQL database.
  • Vehicle Control Modules: Developed CAN-based communication software between ECU and microcontroller, implemented multitask FreeRTOS with IPC via shared memory and events.
  • PID Control Systems: MATLAB/Simulink model-based design, code generation, and deployment on STM32/NXP microcontrollers for actuation control.
  • LabVIEW Control Systems for EM Railgun: RT loop design, capacitor bank simulation, and DAQ integration.
  • Software IV&V & Testing: Lead MISRA-C 2012 & DO-178C compliance activities, static review, code walkthrough, and dynamic testing (LDRA & Polyspace).
