SHARC (Shipyard Handling and Relocation Cart) for FA18 Super Hornet

Objective is to establish smooth movement of fighter jet between hanger bay and the carrier deck by means of transition through elevator.
The key milestones are

  • Concept development of SHARC through constant review of global displacement and fitment study
  • Development of global finite element model to derive all the
interface loads to perform stress and deflection analysis.
  • Detailed sizing of component and interface joints.

Stress Engineer

Collins Aerospace
03.2011 - 10.2016

A few key projects executed at Collins Aerospace are as below

Project #1. ( 787 GE Nacelle)

  • Nonlinear Finite Element modelling and Analysis of Latch and IFS Keeper Housing assembly. Key tasks includes 3D FE model creation, definition of stress-strain curve points under MATS1 Nastran card, run analysis to check for displacement and plastic strain and create analysis reports.

Project #2. (C-Series Certification of FAA)

  • Analysis of Main Track and Auxiliary tracks of Hinge and Latch Beams of TR which includes. Generation of loads report for GFEM, Flight Dynamic and Fan Blade Out loads, Perform static and fatigue analysis by classical approach and Prepare stress note as per certification requirements

Project #3: (C-Series Certification of FAA)

Analysis using FE Modelling of Auxiliary tracks of Hinge and Latch Beams of TR for Actuator Failed conditions. The scope includes

  • developing a 3D FE model of slider and track,
  • define contact at the track to sliders interface region along with loads and BCs.
  • Simulate to check for displacement and plastic strain to compare against allowable values.

Project #4: (Boeing 787-9)

Static and Fatigue analysis of Bifurcation Flange, Torque Box Joint & Upper cap of Hinge and Latch beams of Thrust reverser through classical analysis approach and to create stress notes.

Project #5: (Boeing 787-9)

Finite Element modelling and Analysis of Bumpers which connects two IFS panels for the loads extracted from GFEM and write stress notes.
