Joined Legacy Alstom on 1st July 2009 through college Campus.
2009 to 2010:
I was work as Graduate engineer trainee,In first three-months classroom training in that we learned about how corporate works and how Technical people can support.
After that I was part of steam turbine repair and assessment team where I supported technical processes for shop repair and on-site repair as an on-job trainee.
2010 to 2014:
I handled several projects in shop and site related to steam turbine repair and assessment like..
- Dis-assembly and Assembly of various types of blades of steam turbine OEM and oOEM rotors (ALSTOM design, BHEL design, Siemens Design…Etc...)
- Rotor straightening of HP and IP rotors.
- Weld repair of Turbine and Generator shafts by SAW welding.
- Shot peening of LSBs in Nuclear sites
- Assessment of Steam turbine components like Casings, Rotors, diaphragms, valves.
- Provide repair and design recommendations based on assessment of components.
- Diaphragm repair on onsite
2014 to 2017:
During this period, I am looking for Qualification projects at supplier on Global target to localize the products in India to reduce the cost.
I handled below processes and successfully localized the products:
1) Various types of Last Stage Blades (~1meter length): from row material to final product.
2) Control stage blades: oOEM blade evaluation and developed welding and machining process for twins.
3) Shot peening of fir tree root in rotor disc.
4) Blade carrier and Inner and outer casing machining
5) Rotor machining-1ststage straddle root and all are fir tree root discs.
These all are developed first time in India.
2017 to continue:
- Working as single point contact for Sanand shop (earlier with Vadodara shop) as technical engineer as part of ITR core Steam turbine repair function.
- Making various repair technical processes/drawings, scheduling them, execute them and resolving NCRs and releasing the quality product.
- Doing qualification of various processes in shop in Sanand (New manufacturing Unit) and supplier by planning and executing successfully.
- In parallel to above now I am part of reverse engineering of steam turbine components and supporting the steam turbine components drawing review and approval -mainly now blades and sealing fins type items.
- Supporting engineering department function, operational Excellence project, Separation office etc for my continuous improvement.
