• Infrastructure upgrade and cloud migration initiative to move all applications and services from the on-premises datacenter in Manchester to a hybrid cloud environment using Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This transformation covered business-critical applications across the UKCERO and EMEA regions. Key responsibilities included assessment and planning, hybrid architecture design, application and data migration, CI/CD automation, and establishing secure connectivity and governance. The migration enabled improved scalability, security, and performance while ensuring compliance with regional data protection regulations and business continuity.
• Assessment & Planning: Conducted comprehensive assessment of existing infrastructure, applications, and dependencies across the UKCERO and EMEA business units. Defined the cloud migration roadmap with phased cutovers to minimize downtime and risk. Identified application candidates for lift-and-shift, re-platforming, or refactoring.
• Cloud Architecture & Design: Designed a scalable and secure hybrid cloud architecture, and OCI Compute and Database services. Set up VNET peering, subnet isolation, NSGs, Load Balancers, and ExpressRoute/Site-to-Site for secure connectivity between on-prem and cloud environments. Implemented Azure Active Directory integration and hybrid identity using Azure AD Connect for centralized access control.
• Application & Data Migration: Migrated .NET-based applications and supporting services to Azure App Services where appropriate. Moved Oracle-based applications and databases to OCI, and Database Migration Services. Ensured zero data loss and minimal downtime during database migration by leveraging replication tools.
• Automation & DevOps: Established CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for continuous integration, testing, and deployment in the new cloud environments.
• Security & Compliance: Applied Azure Security, Azure Policies, and OCI IAM Policies for access control, encryption, and compliance governance. Ensured adherence to GDPR and regional data protection regulations across both cloud platforms.
• Monitoring & Support: Implemented Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and OCI Monitoring for real-time insights, diagnostics, and performance optimization. Configured disaster recovery (DR) and backup strategies using Azure Backup, Recovery Services Vaults, and OCI DR plans.
• Outcome & Impact: Successfully transitioned infrastructure and applications from on-premises to cloud, reducing operational overhead and improving application reliability, scalability, and security. Improved agility in application deployment and reduced deployment time through automation and DevOps integration. Enabled unified cloud governance across UKCERO and EMEA regions.

• Worked on multiple strategic in-house products at Hays, directly supporting global business operations across recruitment, compliance, and digital infrastructure.
• Key projects included: IRIS – A global recruitment platform with third-party integrations (LinkedIn, One-Touch job posting) for enhanced candidate sourcing. GDPR – A compliance automation solution ensuring data privacy and regulatory alignment across regions. DocEx – A secure document exchange system facilitating internal and external document workflows. Job Portal – A scalable, multi-region platform for posting jobs and managing applications.
