Research Summary

  • Intramolecular Vinylogous Michael Reaction & Doubly Vinylogous Michael Addition Reactions, The effectiveness of the intramolecular vinylogous Michael addition and the subsequent isomerization has been successfully demonstrated. Reactions involving o-hydroxy-cinnamates, cinnamonitrile and chalcones with γ-bromocrotonates led to the production of 2,3-disubstituted benzofuran derivatives.
  • Base-mediated Arylogous Nitroaldol Reaction and Styrylogous Aldol Condensation, A straightforward and transition metal-free method has been developed for synthesizing a variety of 2-(2-nitroaryl)benzofuran/indole derivatives.
  • Exploring the Reactivity of Imines through N-Heterocyclic Carbene-Catalyzed Umpolung and Its Applications, An innovative first reported on N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) catalysis imine umpolung method has been synthesized various substituted 2-aryl/heteroaryl/vinyl indole-3-acetic acid derivatives.
  • Ru-Catalyzed Synthesis of O-Bridged Tricyclo-fused Cyclopropane Derivatives, An efficient process has been established that uses visible light-mediated photocatalyzed energy transfer reaction to produce oxygen-bridged tricyclo-fused cyclopropane derivatives.
  • CSIR-API Mission Mode Projects, Nilotinib (Tasigna): Indicated for the treatment of specific types of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML; a cancer of the white blood cells).
