Project: Orange Gate, Eastern Freeway to Marine Drive Coastal Road Tunnel Project. Client: Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). General Consultant: HILL-TCE (JV).

• Implement and monitor quality assurance & quality control procedures in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, contract requirements, and applicable standards for tunnel and infrastructure works.
• Review and approve method statements, inspection test plans (ITP), material submittals, and quality plans to ensure alignment with project specifications and contractual requirements.
• Supervise quality control activities for underground tunnel construction, including reinforcement inspection, formwork verification, and structural concrete works.
• Manage QA/QC activities in precast casting yards, including mould preparation, reinforcement fixing, embedment placement, and concrete pouring for tunnel lining segments.
• Monitor the construction quality of launching shafts and associated structural elements, ensuring compliance with approved drawings and technical specifications.
• Inspected precast tunnel lining segments for dimensional tolerances, surface finishing, curing procedures, demoulding processes, and proper storage in the casting yard, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
• Identify and report quality defects such as bug holes, pinholes, surface cracks, edge damages, and finishing issues in tunnel segments, and coordinate corrective measures.
• Review and monitor concrete mix designs, plant trials, and trial mixes to ensure compliance with structural and durability requirements of tunnel and marine infrastructure projects.
• Monitor fresh and hardened concrete testing, including slump, temperature, cube strength, and curing practices in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Coordinate in-house and third-party laboratory testing for construction materials, including cement, aggregates, reinforcement steel, bitumen, admixtures, and other materials used in infrastructure works.
• Review and approve product submittals and material approvals to ensure that only approved materials are used in project construction.
• Conduct regular quality walks and inspections at the site to monitor workmanship standards and ensure compliance with approved procedures and specifications.
• Prepared and maintained QA/QC documentation, including inspection requests, test reports, calibration records, material approvals, and quality control registers.
• Issued and tracked Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Site Observation Reports (SOR) for deviations from specifications, ensuring implementation of corrective and preventive actions to uphold quality standards.
• Perform root cause analysis for quality non-conformities and monitor closure of NCRs through effective corrective action implementation.
• Maintain the master list of quality records and document control system for the entire project to ensure traceability and audit readiness.

Project: Mumbai Coastal Road Project (MCRP) Package-2. Client: Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Consultant: AECOM-India | PMC: Egis-India & Cullen Grummitt & Roe JV.

• Implement and monitor Inspection Test Plans (ITP) for all construction activities in accordance with approved method statements, project specifications, and contract documents.
• Ensure compliance of all quality tests and inspections as per approved ITP, Method Statements, and contract requirements.
• Carry out quality control inspections for structural works including piling, pile caps, precast segments, and girders.
• Supervise sampling of construction materials and coordinate with third-party laboratories.
• Coordinated with batching plant and RMC plant engineers to uphold concrete production quality standards.
• Review and verify concrete mix designs through trials and testing.
• Review and verify bituminous mix designs for DBM and BC through laboratory trials.
• Maintain laboratory equipment inventory and calibration schedules and witness third-party laboratory testing.
