I began surveying in 2006 at JFC Engineers and Surveyors in Rock Springs, Wyoming. I really enjoyed land surveying and felt like I could make a career of this. I became a crew chief in 2007 and continued to grow and gain experience in many aspects of surveying. In 2022, I chose to move on from my position with JFC and gain some experience in underground mine surveying at Genesis Alkali. Despite having no experience in this area, I learned quickly and improved the survey department at the mine. I have experience in conducting many types of surveys. The local area has very large natural gas fields, many mines of various types, and one of the largest power plants in the US. Most work has been local; however, I have worked on some large-scale pipeline surveys that required a lot of travel. Throughout my surveying career, I have been working toward obtaining the education required to pass the PLS exam. Financial concerns, and other family affairs have made this a slow process. I have taken approximately half of the classes I need in Wyoming and hope to continue taking classes in Florida and sit for the PLS exam. Shortly after I took the new position my family made the decision to make good on a long time dream and move to Florida. My wife and son moved to the Sarasota area, while I stayed behind to handle matters with the house. I am now looking to relocate as well and feel that with my experience and knowledge, I could be an asset to this company.
