Roles And Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive audits for IP/DRG medical coding to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to client and regulatory guidelines.
- Analyze error trends and develop targeted action plans to address recurring issues across coding teams.
- Provide detailed audit feedback and performance insights to coders, quality teams, and operations.
- Lead and participate in internal calibrations (QA-Operations calibrations) to ensure alignment in audit standards and coding quality expectations.
- Identify top coding errors and conduct calibration/training sessions to drive accuracy and reduce repeat errors.
- Deliver Training & Improvement (T&I) sessions and share T&I points with the training team for skill enhancement of coders.
- Develop competency-based training materials, scenarios, and case-based examples for coder education.
- Prepare and deliver monthly PKT (Process Knowledge Test) questions and coordinate assessments twice a month.
- Review and analyze external quality reports shared by the client and drive corrective actions.
- Clarify coder queries related to guidelines, DRG logic, documentation interpretation, and coding scenarios.
- Raise queries to physicians or the appropriate point-of-contact to resolve documentation gaps impacting code/DRG assignment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Training, Operations) to improve coding accuracy and process performance.
