Senior Government Officer (Retd.) with over 36 years of experience in supply chain logistics of foodgrains from procurement to the end consumer i.r.o. paddy, rice, wheat & pulses, by Food Corporation of India (FCI).   • Member of the committee constituted by the District Collector, Durg for technical inspection of gunny bales/bags meant for bagging CMR.
  • Ensured adherence to GOI uniform specifications, significantly reducing stock rejections.
  • Led mid-sea and pre-shipment sampling and pest/plant disease inspections at Kandla Port, ensuring smooth import/export logistics, especially for wheat imports from about eight countries by GOI.

Accomplishments

  • 2012–2024: Served as Presenting Officer (PO) on behalf of FCI in Departmental Enquiry Proceedings (DEPs). Also appeared as Defence Counsel/Defence Assistant (DA) for Charged Officials (COs) in FCI DEPs conducted in Goa, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh, continuing this role post-retirement.
  • 2022: Established a laboratory for physical and chemical testing of foodgrains and pulses at the godown premises of M/s. Blackstone Logistics Pvt. Ltd., Khamgaon.
  • 2005: Part of a three-member committee (with the General Manager and Deputy General Manager, FCI Mumbai) for a pilot project transporting large quantities of imported wheat (received from 6–7 countries) using 1-ton slinging bags stuffed in containers. The rake was moved from the Container Corporation of India railway yard, Gandhidham, to the Sabarmati (Gujarat) container yard.

Training And Capacity Building

  • 2009–2021: Imparted induction and refresher training to 400+ FCI and state government officials on procurement, storage, and preservation of CMR, pulses, and paddy in Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.
  • Conducted paddy quality improvement programs at procurement centres and for farmers/agriculturists via Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Baloda Bazar, Chhattisgarh.
  • Supported the Rural Storage Scheme (Gramin Bhandaran Yojana) of the Government of India for safe storage of ~100 MT by farmers and entrepreneurs at Mandvi and Mundra (Gujarat).
  • 2016–2019: As a member of the advisory committee (representing FCI), provided guidance on quality awareness for wheat, rice, paddy, and pulses production through interviews broadcast on AIR/Akashwani, Nagpur (Marathi) for farmers and agriculturists.

Participation In National and International Events

  • 2018: Delivered a presentation on “Storage Structure: Past, Present & Future” at the Regional Workshop on Preventing Grain Losses: Scientific Approach, organized by the Entomological Society of India at Agricultural University, Pune. The event was attended by renowned agricultural scientists, CEOs, representatives of private and public sector organizations, and Ph.D. students.
  • 2012: Participated in a high-level meeting at FCI Headquarters, New Delhi, to bring clarity to quality parameters. Contributed to the creation of Pictorial Depiction of Rice Refractions.
  • 2004: Participated in the Rice Expo of SAARC countries, Mumbai, as part of the FCI delegation. Explained the intricacies of procurement, scientific storage (covered godowns and CAP), distribution through PDS, port operations for foodgrain import/export, and quality control to Indian and foreign delegates. Shared insights on the foodgrain supply chain and modern technologies adopted in SAARC countries, with special reference to rice in India.
