• Molecular Biology: DNA/RNA isolation and purification; vector design; primer design; plasmid purification; PCR; RT-PCR; cloning; site directed/ random mutagenesis; DNA sequencing; plasmid DNA library preparation/screening; gel electrophoresis; Southern blot; and Northern blot analysis. Vector NTI, Snapgene hands-on experience.
• Bio Process: Batch and fed-batch tank bioreactor operation and troubleshooting, membrane filtrations (ultra-filtration, diafiltration and tangential flow filtration), hands on experience over downstream processing of targeted product after fermentation (affinity chromatography, ion-exchange chromatography, and isoelectric precipitation), documentation systems (ELN, SOPs, BPRs, technical reports)
• Biochemistry: Protein engineering skills to develop the protein/peptide of interest, Protein analysis and characterization (SDS-PAGE, blue staining and silver staining, Western blot, ELISA, UV-vis Spectrophotometry, Densitometry Analysis).
• Microbiological Techniques: Isolation/identification of microorganisms; maintenance/preservation of microorganisms; media preparation; microbiological sterile/aseptic techniques; serial dilutions; plate counts/haemocytometer counts; strain improvement by classical and genetic manipulation methods; mutation and selection
