Design, Development and Testing Of Leak Detection Unit (NPD – Cross Functional)
- Owned design, development, and testing of Leak detection unit for Air Operated Diaphragm pumps to be used in Explosive Environment
- Design of Mechanical enclosure confirming to ATEX standards and Performed design calculations to determine the strength of the overall unit
- Selection of Float sensor, LED, Buzzer, Battery, Electrical enclosure, and other electrical components based on Intrinsic Safety, UL, and IP standards
- Design of Test plan, Test setup for testing and responsible for testing of Leak detector unit in diaphragm pumps for different conditions and documented the reliability of the proposed design
- Collaborated with Global Team and carried out multiple design reviews with ATEX consultant to make the whole system Intrinsically safe
- Created CAD models and detail drawings for Sheetmetal and machined components with application of GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
Design, Development And Testing Of Lobe Pump (NPD)
- Owned and managed the entire product roadmap from conceptual design, development, and testing of Hygienic Lobe pump to expand product portfolio in a market worth of $600 Million USD
- Performed a competitor analysis between 5 market leaders for 1” pump size.
- Performed design calculations such as Mathematical modeling of Lobe profile, Shaft Calculation, Gear Calculation, Pump casing calculation, Motor Calculation and Bolt calculations.
- Selection of Bearings, Couplings, Seals, Elastomers, Fasteners and Electric Motor
- Hosted multiple design reviews with Global Team and internal stake holders in constructing Proof of Concept
- Created CAD models and detail drawing for 14 different casting, machined and sheetmetal components with application of GD&T per ASME Y14.5 for prototype.
- Defined Test plan, Test setup and performed testing of prototype pump for different conditions and documented the reliability of the proposed design
Redesign Of Fluid Contact Components For Air-Operated Double Diaphragm Pump (VAVE)
- Successfully developed concepts for 1”,1.5” & 2” AL, SS & Ductile Iron Pumps thereby achieving 22% weight saving and estimated revenue of $1.54 Million USD
- Performed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for 5-8 Casting components to understand Von Moises Stress induced during pressurized conditions
- Spearheaded and coordinated the Design reviews with Global Design Team in understanding and improving the pain areas in existing pump design
- Created CAD model and detail manufacturing and assembly drawings for all 3 pump sizes with application of GD&T per ASME Y14.5 Standards for tooling.
