  • Works as a Wastewater Treatment Operator in our Final Treatment Plant. This job is very important because this is the final plant where Our wastewater is treated before it goes out to our Outfall and eventually going into Lake Michigan. We use Equalization Basins and Sedimentation Basins along with Mechanical and Chemical Treatment to achieve the Compliance we need for U.S Steel and IDEM.
  • Works as Wastewater Treatment Operator In our Sludge Dewater Plant. The Sludge is collected in Gravity Thickeners from our Final treatment Plant and Processed thru (2) 160 Plate Frame Presses.
  • Works as a Wastewater Treatment Operator in our Oil Recovery Program. We use several Mechanical, Hydraulic and Chemical Treatment for the separation of Oil and Water.
  • Works as the Lead Operator and Licensed Operator In charge of our whole Wastewater Treatment Plant and Liaison between Operators and Management. Also meet with IDEM (Indiana Department of Environmental Management) on Compliance issues and routine Inspection of the Plant. Monitors our daily NPES reports and any other Compliance tools such as Log Sheets from each area and Dump reports of Loading to our various Plants.
  • Our Plants are Class D Plants and I am the Licensed Person in charge (Signed Person) on the Permit for our Wastewater Plant at U.S Steel Corp.
