Construction of Single Line Broad Gauge G Tunnel No. 11 (9050m), under Package-6 in connection with New Single BG line between Rishikesh and Karnprayag (125km) in the State of Uttarakhand, India. Total Tunneling Length – 19051 m including Main Tunnel (average excavated cross-sectional area of 69m2 and finished cross-sectional area of 42m2), Escape Tunnel(average excavated cross-sectional area of 32m2 and finished cross-sectional area of 17.50m2) and Cross-Passages).

• Heading the Geology and Instrumentation Team
• Assisted with day-to-day operations, working efficiently and productively with all team members.
• Cross-checking of all Face Logs, 3D maps and Longitudinal Section before submission to the Engineer
• Interpretation of Probe Holes from manual observation and MWD data processed through ISure software
• Preparation of Blasting pattern and modifying as per site geological conditions
• Preparation of Geological reports
• Cross-checking of documentation for Geological Overbreak before final submission
• Monitoring of primary support installation in Tunnel
• Blast vibration monitoring and monitoring of cracks along with photography in populated areas in the proximity of the Tunnel and report submission

1. Project Management Consultants for construction of ATAL TUNNEL, ROHTANG, 9020m (Longest Highway Tunnel in the World above 3000m) near Manali, Himachal Pradesh, having cross sectional area of 137m2 and finished cross sectional area of 75.9m2.

2. Construction of Tunnel 9 - 542m & Tunnel 10 – 5300m in connection with construction of Sivok (West Bengal) to Rangpo (Sikkim) New Single Line BG Railway line Project. Tunnels having average excavated cross-sectional area of 69m2 and finished cross-sectional area of 39m2.

• Accomplishments in Atal Tunnel, Rohtang:
• Successfully crossed the Seri Nalla Fault Zone of 587 m adopting DRESS method of tunnelling
• This zone comprised of sheared & shattered rock mass, clay gougy material and River Borne Material where very high inflow of water upto 116 L/sec was observed
• Very high deformation of upto 800 mm in 8 weeks was observed leading to cracks in shotcrete, buckling of lattice girders and settlement of pipe-roofs
• Successfully crossed the high stress zone which had very high overburden cover of >1500 m and maximum overburden cover of 1860 m by applying various measures as per site conditions
• Due to the high stress conditions squeezing of the tunnel, cracks in shotcrete, buckling of lattice girders were observed.
