1. Borewell Recharge Operations (Team Leader - Field Execution)
- Worked as Team Leader for borewell recharge operations with direct responsibility for planning, execution, and farmer coordination.
- Actively visited agricultural fields and villages to communicate groundwater depletion issues, causes of borewell failure, and the importance of borewell recharge. Implemented recharge through unconfined aquifers by allowing filtered surface runoff and harvested rainwater to enter borewells, focusing on aquifer replenishment and long-term borewell sustainability.
2. Groundwater Exploration & Borewell Point
- Identification Conducted groundwater exploration using Electrical Resistivity Method (ERM / VES) to understand subsurface lithology, weathered zones, fracture systems, and groundwater-bearing formations.
- Performed electromagnetic groundwater surveys using PQWT instrument to identify water-bearing zones and favorable borewell drilling locations. Integrated ERM results, PQWT observations, and surface geological indicators to suggest suitable borewell points.
3. Aquifer Testing (Pumping, Drawdown & Slug Tests)
- Participated in pumping tests to assess aquifer yield, drawdown behavior, and recovery characteristics.
- Conducted drawdown tests to understand specific yield and aquifer response. Performed slug tests for rapid assessment of hydraulic conductivity in shallow and low-yield aquifers, supporting borewell performance evaluation.
4. Groundwater Harvesting & Watershed Management
- Worked on groundwater harvesting and watershed management activities aimed at improving recharge efficiency and sustainability.
- Understood watershed-based planning concepts including runoff control, recharge enhancement, and long-term groundwater management at micro-watershed level.
5. Water Quality Analysis & Suitability Assessment
- Conducted groundwater quality testing as part of borewell recharge and exploration activities.
- Determined pH, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), and hardness of groundwater samples. Assessed potability and irrigation suitability and provided water quality suitability suggestions to farmers and stakeholders.
6. GIS-Based Reporting & Technical Documentation
- Prepared detailed GIS-based technical reports and maps integrating field data with spatial datasets.
- Developed maps showing borewell locations, groundwater exploration results, recharge interventions, and watershed features using QGIS and ArcGIS.
- Assisted in preparation of technical documentation and reports for PQWT surveys, groundwater exploration, and borewell point recommendation.
