  • Preparing and implementing electrical equipment reliability improvement plan and ensuring maximum availability of electrical equipment by eliminating or minimizing break down by proactive monitoring & analysis.
  • Improve reliability electrical equipment through continuous online condition monitoring techniques.
  • Analyzing electrical equipment test records including transformer oil analysis and providing assessment of equipment health and improvement recommendations.
  • Transformer oil dissolve gas analysis & any abnormal fault gases evaluating using the Duval triangle, Roger’s ratio methods to understand nature of fault.
  • Creating of health index of power transformer according diagnostic test report.
  • Answerable for 220KV/33KV 174MVA (OEM: ABB), 33/6.6KV 16/20/25/31.5MVA (OEM: SCHNEIDER), 33/11KV 25MVA (BBL), 6.6KV/0.415KV 2/2.5MVA & 6.6KV/690V 2.5MVA (OEM: CGL) transformers.
  • Answerable for 11KV & 6.6KV (OEM: SCHNEIDER), 415V (OEM: L&T) Switchgears & up to 33KV cables.
  • Participating in failure investigations, applicable recommendations share with other similar facilities to eliminate electrical equipment failures, evaluate their measures of effectiveness.
  • Improving reliability through system studies, continuous improvement techniques/ upgradation/ modification.
  • Ensuring scheduling of PM and PDM of Electrical assets in SAP as per IMS tire-3 document.
  • Developing engineering scopes to contract cell which includes provision of specialist services, Cost estimation, technical bid evaluation.
  • Coordinating with vendors and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Line up OEM services, monitor vendor performance and quality of purchased goods and services.
  • Identifying Reliability improvement initiatives and ensure implementation in each plant.
  • Imparting trainings to RIL employees for capability development on transformer, Switchgear & Cables.
  • Review of group level Best Maintenance Practices (BMP) document.
  • Electrical safety management, participating & conducting internal and inter site plant audit.
  • Preparing optimized annual service and material budget without hampering equipment reliability and availability.
  • DIN 51353 standard corrosive sulphur identified in five power transformers and replace the new oil.
  • Create a Health Index of Power Transformer based on an IEEE paper to make prioritizing transformer overhauls easier. Three power transformers failure avoided.
  • Three power transformers had internal failures that were discovered by routine dissolving gas analysis annual sampling and on-site corrective action carried out. Quarterly sampling introduces for early event detection.
  • An online DGA critical power transformer is installed to monitor fault gasses in real time.
  • By using Weibull analysis, PM optimizes power transformer PM frequency from once every four years to once every five years.
  • Distribution transformer conservator tank low oil level alarm issues studied; capacity enhancement implemented.
  • Presented the novel idea of Contact Resistance Measurement to raise the standard of MCC revalidation, which resulted in a notable improvement in the quality of the work. The Site President awarded me the 'A' Category Suggestion Award.
  • Based on IEEE 400.2 standard, a cable health evaluation program was developed.
  • A continuous online partial discharge monitoring system for 33 kV cables was put in place. Three cable failures were avoided.
  • 33kV & 11kV cables N+1 cable requirement studied and 11KV Motor feeders 5 Nos. N+1 cable recommended to reduce downtime during cable failure.
