Product Development Programs & process developemen

1. Migration from BS II to BS III of all commercial      vehicles:

To calculate & reduce the pressure drop across the Air Intake System piping and Exhaust system  piping for all the vehicles.

2. Design of Aero hat for Tractor Trailer to be      displayed at Auto Expo 2010:

New Aero hat was designed for the Tractor Trailer vehicle and the aerodynamic drag reduction due to aero hat was studied.

3. Aerodynamic Analysis of New Gen Cab:

Aerodynamic analysis was carried out to compute the Drag force experienced by the vehicle and hence Cd. Identify the regions of flow separation and to design aero hats based on baseline simulation.

4.  CABIN HVAC

Optimize HVAC Ducting (Fresh air, Legroom ventilation & Defrost mode), for the given AC System. Study the flow inside the cabin.

5. Purge Distribution Analysis Procedure development:

Existing procedure was updated with new boundary conditions to better replicate the actual working conditions of the purge valve and hence improving the CFD analysis predictions of the purge distribution between the Cylinders.

6. Coolant Pump Performance:

Existing GM coolant pump was compared with new supplier pump for performance and efficiency. This project was done to evaluate new supplier with added cost benefits. A comparative study of the both the pump design was done.

7. 2 Liter 4 Cylinder Medium Gasoline Engine Development Program:

Was the Single point of Contact for all the Air flow Analysis of the engine from alpha stage till production. Air flow analysis involved, analysis of Intake ports, Intake Manifold, PCV /Purge distribution study, Map sensor location evaluation, O2 sensor location evaluation, Catalytic Converter performance, Back pressure of the exhaust system and CHT analysis of all exhaust components.

8. ADAS Cruise control system Thermal Assessment procedure development:

With advances in Autonomous vehicle, the current vehicle cruise control system camera’s and lidar system are mounted above the IRVM inside the cabin. The sensor farm components like camera’s and lidar have operating temperature limitations. So, it becomes important to manage the temperatures of these sensors at entire vehicle operations. A new procedure was developed to cover the entire range of operating conditions and impact of factors like AC flow rates, Solar loads and others. The analysis results provide the ADAS system team about the scenario’s when the temperatures can cross the limits and availability of the cruise control features.
