This includes managing staff, ensuring quality compliance (e.g., NABL, ISO 15189), improving turnaround time (TAT), managing resources, and implementing strategic initiatives to ensure high-quality diagnostic services.

Lab Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the laboratory to ensure high-quality, accurate, and timely testing. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards (NABL, ISO 15189:2022, etc.), manages technical staff, and implements continuous quality improvement processes. The Senior Lab Manager acts as a key link between laboratory teams, clinicians, and management.

Develop and implement area-wide quality management strategies, policies, and procedures.

Monitor and audit compliance with national and international quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 15189, NABL, CAP, GMP).

Lead quality improvement initiatives across all sites in the assigned area.

Provide leadership, guidance, and training to local quality teams.

Analyze quality performance data and prepare reports for senior management.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Ensure that all locations are inspection-ready and comply with applicable regulatory requirements.

Conduct regular internal audits, risk assessments, and support external audits.

Maintain and review documentation, SOPs, quality manuals, and other records.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, quality excellence, and customer satisfaction.

Supervise and coordinate daily technical activities within the assigned section of the lab.

Ensure quality control and quality assurance (QC/QA) measures are implemented and documented.

Monitor TAT (Turnaround Time) and take corrective actions to maintain workflow efficiency.

Train, guide, and evaluate laboratory technicians and junior staff.

Troubleshoot technical issues related to instruments, reagents, and test performance.

Maintain inventory and ensure timely procurement of consumables and reagents.

Ensure proper sample handling, storage, and disposal procedures.

Participate in internal and external audits; ensure compliance with ISO/NABL standards.

Validate and verify new test methods or equipment as per protocol.

Coordinate with other departments and clinicians for effective communication and service delivery.

Maintain accurate documentation, including maintenance logs, calibration records, and incident reports.

Perform routine and specialized diagnostic tests in hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and clinical pathology.

Ensure accurate documentation, sample labeling, and report generation.

Supervise and train junior lab technicians and assistants.

Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.

Monitor quality control and ensure adherence to SOPs and safety standards.

Collect and process patient samples (blood, urine, stool, etc.) with precision.

Assist in audits, internal assessments, and external quality assurance programs.

Prepare reagents and manage laboratory stock/inventory.

Handle and dispose of biohazard materials safely.

Report equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions promptly.
