1. Actively involved in the development of high-yielding, disease-resistant, and climate-resilient pigeonpea breeding varieties and hybrids, with extensive selection experience gained over multiple seasons.

2. Acquired substantial experience in planning and executing breeding experiments, including field layouts, trial designs, and nurseries from sowing to harvesting.

3. Responsible for the preparation of field maps, field books, bar code labels, and data collection booklets.

4. Develop and implement the crossing program, generation advancement, and Multi-Location Trials (MLTs) preparation for NARS partners.

5. Manage the Rapid Generation Advancement (RGA) facilities at ICRISAT for advancing generations from F2 to F4.

6. Oversee field breeding activities and breeding methods, including pedigree selection, single seed descent, and population development to generate new varieties.

7. Annually manage and handle 1,500 test crosses and 3,000 progenies with the assistance of technicians and field assistants.

8. Handles hybrid crossing programs (A x B, and A x R), backcrossing, and seed increase for new hybrids.

9. Possess excellent experience in sampling collection for genotyping to support genomic selection.

10. Implement and assist breeding pipelines for extra-early, early, mid-early, and medium-duration pigeonpea varieties and hybrids.

11. Gained expertise in cytology for pollen studies, facilitating the identification of stable hybrid parents.

12. Currently, I supervise a team of 8 technicians, 10 field assistants, and 10 interns in the breeding program.

13. Train and assist technicians in data collection for various traits, based on specific breeding requirements.

14. Collaborate effectively with other programs and Field Experiment Services (FES) to ensure timely sowing, irrigation, and spraying in field experiments.
