With extensive experience gained working within Citi applications and exposure, I joined with Citi Corp Services, Chennai, commencing on December 24th designated as an IT Quality Analyst playing the role of an API (SME). The bank provides in offering their services to partners across APAC & EMEA regions like Qantas, PayPal, Paytm, HKTV Mall etc and building their own Microservices, APIs.

Key Roles/Achievements

• Took the responsibility of Subject matter expert on APIs by reviewing right from requirements to sign-off in UAT.
• Closely worked on White-label and co-branded partnership services provided by Citi. Certified the functionality of credit card & payments via the exposed Citi core banking open APIs.
• As an API technical test SME was to ensure the entire partner journey right from Sandbox API testing to UAT sign-off and as well monitor for INCs once released.
• The API partnership UAT test validation was achieved by a data driven automation framework using SOAP UI. For validating the 3Legged Authentication we approached with selenium web driver.
• Partner UI login validation and transactional screens were validated using selenium web driver automation which was integrated within SOAP UI itself.
• Since it was Open APIs being exposed outside of internal environments we had to various authentications & authorization to validate the flow. I had integrated a script within our framework to generate JWE signature for encrypted payloads passed having sensitive customer information.
• Oversaw and guided the vendor team throughout the API UAT test cycle, conducting thorough audits on automation test scripts, test cases, and test results. Proactively fostered cross-functional expertise among team members to ensure seamless continuity in the absence of any team member.
• Utilized test management tool for test cases, defects enabling efficient communication between QA analysts and developers regarding discovered issues and also the business on critical issues.
• Expertise was carried out on working for regulatory partners as well in validating the open API services. Worked closely on PSD2 regulatory payments, AU Open banking & SG Findex.
• Regulatory being a critical piece i have delivered right from the requirement gathering, test case design and execution with a small member team. Challenges were seen in validating the functional flow since it was dealt with JWT, 3Legged, Mobile App push authentications respectively.
• Conducted in-depth analysis of critical functional APIs thereby creating a standardized regression suites for better traceability of issues upper hand.
• Gone on to implement the regression test suites run over CI/CD through deployment or as scheduled basis since there was an unified framework within the infrastructure to run SOAP UI xmls.
• Challenge in running the automated regression suites was test data and dependency over complex test data challenges overcoming this over calling database as an API and fetching active accounts/cards. Was appreciated well by immediate stakeholders and also other teams.
• Citi having announced strategy to let go of markets got involved into performing UAT test validation for divesture markets. Involved in handling of test execution of exit markets ensuring the BAU is not impacted and also there is no impact to any existing partners.
• Took up additional projects to work on supporting business process workflow management applications like PEGA, Bespoke.
• Involved in grooming of understanding the workflow for various functions like Account Opening, Investment operations, Bulk processing, Target Market review. Implemented automation using selenium for initial phase of testing however a centralized framework was being implemented.
• Received a Bronze Recognition Award for collaborative participation in an internal hackathon. Contributed to a team effort aimed at resolving a critical issue related to test data availability. Developed a solution utilizing APIs to filter and retrieve the latest data, facilitating efficient comparison with database queries.
• Conducted in-depth analysis of existing APIs to create a centralized repository basis the channel consumption ensuring coverage of test cases for both functional and Open API Certification.

During my journey with Maveric Systems i have proved myself efficient firstly getting trained on Automation testing as an Intern on HP-QTP, IBM RFT. I have developed my skills technically as well sounding a very good team lead as well. I had been deployed for a key account on UAT test engagement performing Automation testing for various regions within Citi (APAC, NAM & Mexico).

Key Roles/Achievements

• Adapting & Learning to Mainframe Automation using HP QTP and later being part of converting existing Automated scripts to Terminal Emulator add-on using HP UFT thereby reducing a lot of time.
• Developing a customized framework for Citi NAM/Mexico using HP-UFT for One disputes based applications.
• Showcasing excellent client and stakeholder management receiving appreciations for managing a small scale team.
• Traveled to Mexico (Citi banamex) as an On-shore lead show casing Automation skills preparing test suites for regression testing (Credit Card portal) application using HP-UFT.
• Grabbed the opportunity of working as an API Tester having the expertise of understanding the applications and quickly complete API UAT certification for critical APIs. Tool Set - SOAP UI.
• Formed a 6 member initially at API Factory was to perform regression testing for 80+ APIs which would have changes or addition to code for more coverage, Headers, loggers
• Implemented a strategy to validate both UAT & Performing testing using scrum model expanding the team to 13 (5 offshore & 8 onshore).
• Recognized well and appreciated by client and stakeholders within Mexico for delivery quality results.
• Having carried over the expertise on API testing deployed in Citi APAC critical API UAT test engagement.
• Transformed to a lead/SME for the team on API providing solutions for a faster as well ensuring quality to the client.
• Majorly played a role in implementing a strategy to have cross functional knowledge.
• Reviewed teams appraisal based on key metrics like Automation efficiency, stakeholder management.
