Summary

I am Nilanjana, currently serving as the Head of the Additional Learning Support Department (SEND) at Pathways School Noida, an IB Continuum school for four years now. I am also a qualified CIS evaluator, as our institution holds accreditations from CIS and NEASC, enabling me to participate as an accreditor on a global scale. Along with my lead role I also work as an MYP 5 IDU facilitator and a personal project mentor or guide. I am also involved in early years and Primary teacher’s training program for Neurodiversity and other identified needs to support in line with curriculum considering the child’s need. Previously, I held the position of Head of Inclusion (SEND, G&T, and ESL) at Al Sadiq Islamic English School in Dubai, a British Curriculum institution, where I was a member of the Senior Leadership Team overseeing Inclusion, Wellness, and serving as a Child Protection Officer. I have also worked as SENCO at Gems Heritage Indian School Dubai. My professional background lies in special education, and I am registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). I have held roles such as a Counsellor cum Special Educator at Indus Valley World School and Apeejay School in Kolkata. Additionally, I have conducted Cambridge workshops for mainstream teachers on various topics such as ‘Classroom Teaching Strategies’ and ‘Supporting Determined Learners’. My experience extends beyond school settings; I have also worked in clinic and community-based rehabilitation, as well as providing shadow teaching and remedial support. Furthermore, I have engaged in freelance educational content writing, parent and child counselling, and independent educational planning. I advocate for inclusive education and have been involved in various initiatives aimed at creating inclusive environments both within schools and the broader society. My commitment to education led me to pursue a Master of Education degree from IGNOU, and I eagerly await the results of my final year exams from the July 2021 batch.
