The aim of this study is to reduce the cost of rework on engines that will be subject to maintenance
Improvement carried out on this task: Derived testbed and on-wing TGT and shaft speed margins difference for different rework levels (for e.g., HPT Blades only) rather than using carpet difference for all reworks
Analysis of On-wing TGT and Shaft Speed margins deterioration trends and Weibulls derivation
Forecast TGT and shaft speed margin lives so that service business / planning team can plan for engine removals and corresponding shop visits
TGT and Shaft speed Weibulls are supplied to the Service Business Team in the form of Eta and Beta, these are used by business planning team for current flying and future engines
Study Workscope Effectiveness
The aim of this study is to quantify the change in key performance parameters from different workscopes performed on the engine
The output of this activity is used in recommending workscope
Slope correction for TGT and Shaft speed margins
On-wing TGT and Shaft Speed margin shows correlation with operational parameters such as altitude, Mach Number, DTAMB and PST
These may cause under or over prediction of available margins leading to in-service red-line events or earl removals
Mixed linear regression method is used to derive slope and offset required for margin correction.
