FME & QGIS – Navigation QA & Spatial Analysis

• As a Assistant Consultant, i have to support geospatial projects by leveraging GIS tools, techniques, and software to deliver accurate spatial analyses and solutions. This role involves working closely with senior consultants, analyzing spatial data, generating maps, maintaining GIS databases, and contributing to project deliverables.
• Designed and implemented FME-based Spatial ETL pipelines to process road network data, including geometry normalization, attribute standardization, and schema validation for navigation-ready datasets.
• Automated road attribute transformations (functional class, form of way, speed limits, access restrictions, turn-related attributes) using FME transformers.
• Built rule-based QA checks in FME to detect navigation-critical issues such as disconnected road segments, invalid directionality, missing speed attributes, and topology breaks.
• Leveraged FME Flow automations to schedule navigation data refreshes, run validation workflows, and generate exception reports for downstream correction teams.
• Enabled multi-source data integration (field data, vendor feeds, and legacy GIS layers) into a unified navigation schema using FME.
• Used QGIS extensively for road network visualization, validation, and spatial analysis to support navigation use cases.
• Performed connectivity checks, intersection validation, and topology verification to ensure routable and continuous road networks.
• Validated navigation attributes such as one-way restrictions, turn restrictions, road hierarchy, and access rules using spatial filters and rule-based checks.
• Supported map preview and issue investigation by analyzing real-world routing behavior and correcting geometry or attribute-level issues.
• Assisted in bulk corrections and spatial edits to improve routing accuracy and navigation reliability.

• Leading a team that builds simple to complex GIS models to identify error trends, optimize the non-actionable high-volume locations using different GIS tools, Spatial ETL Tools
