Own and define the product roadmap for the enterprise data lake platform powered by Hadoop and Spark, serving 100+ internal consumers.
Driving the implementation of an 8-step milestone roadmap to embed Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles across Production Engineering. Leading adoption within my team, tracking progress across multiple teams, and facilitating biweekly syncs to identify blockers, provide guidance, and ensure alignment with established timelines.
Managed the end-to-end delivery of a large-scale Hadoop cluster, supporting batch and streaming ETL pipeline.
Conducted upgrades for over 300 nodes in alignment with EOL and compliance mandates. Managed stakeholder communication, handled risks due to change freezes, and wrote parallel execution scripts to meet aggressive deadlines. Coordinated upgrades of Hadoop distributions (Cloudera CDH) with zero downtime, and ensured system resilience during DR drills.
Constructed new clusters, and tailored them to application-specific use cases. Assessed capacity, worked with infrastructure teams for provisioning, and collaborated with vendors to streamline automation.
Led password recertification efforts across Hadoop services annually, ensuring security compliance. Scheduled work across weekends, based on availability and change windows, to minimize downtime.
Orchestrated DR testing across critical systems—handled pre-planning, stakeholder notifications, execution, and detailed documentation of test evidence and learnings.
Reduced licensing costs by transitioning from shared to dedicated VMs, leveraging capacity analysis, and securing leadership approvals.
Partnered with developers to automate weekend maintenance workflows, minimizing manual intervention, and reducing SME dependency.
