Projects And Thesis
Ongoing – High Entropy Alloy Composites for Aircraft Braking Energy Applications, To overcome the limitations of conventional brake materials (Al, Mg, steel MMCs) with poor wear resistance and unstable friction under high energy braking. Developed 10% SiC-reinforced FeCrNiCuMo alloy via powder metallurgy, achieving uniform microstructure, superior hardness (178 HV), and stable friction coefficient, demonstrating its suitability for high-energy braking systems in aerospace and defence.
Ph.D.–Microstructure, Mechanical Properties and Electro-chemical Attributes of Thermo-Mechanically Processed Magnesium Alloys, To address the need for lightweight, high-strength, and corrosion-resistant alloys for aerospace and automotive applications. Mg alloys are attractive for weight reduction but limited by ductility and corrosion resistance; this work focused on thermo-mechanical and heat treatment processing (extrusion, rolling & precipitation hardening) of Mg-Sn-Zn and Mg-Sn-Al systems to enhance strength, corrosion resistance, and formability, supporting eco-friendly alloy development for sustainable transportation and defence sectors.
M.E. – Optimization of Weld Bead Geometry in Root Pass Welding, To improve welding quality and structural integrity in critical joints by optimizing weld bead geometry. Focused on controlling parameters to reduce defects, enhance mechanical performance, and ensure reliability of welded structures for industrial applications.
