Our team is handling the refactoring for providers portal, it is an approach to develop a single application as a suite of small services, each running in its own process and communicating with lightweight mechanisms, often an HTTP resource API.
These services are built around business capabilities and independently deployable by fully automated deployment machinery.
Microservices do not require development teams to rewrite the whole application if they want to add new features. Smaller codebases make maintenance easier and faster.
The outcome of this approach it makes the individual applications are containerized and deployed independently and efficient automation of continuous integration and continuous delivery.
