Over 10 years of fulltime diversified work experience including Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs). During this period, I have widespread experience in Government of India at various capacities and responsibilities, and extensively involved in financing and management of infrastructure projects supported with Multilateral Development Banks, policy review and formulations and other development issues. More specifically, I have been working on matters related various International Financial Institutions such as NDB, AIIB, IFAD and ADB, including Board matters and investment operations of these MDBs. Core strengths include financing and management of Externally Aided Projects (EAPs), policies of NDB, AIIB, IFAD and ADB.

  • Lead in the formulation and review of policies related to international financial institutions, with a focus on the NDB, AIIB, IFAD and ADB.
  • Collaborate on matters concerning the establishment of NDB, AIIB, IFAD and ADB presence in India, lending modalities, and administrative and non-administrative aspects.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of innovative lending modalities, such as Project Readiness Financing (PRF), targeting the development needs of North Eastern and Himalayan States.
  • I coordinated with multilateral development banks such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), New Development Bank (NDB), and International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The borrowers are primarily the Government of India at the central level and respective state governments acting as executing agencies for the projects.
  • Coordinate and oversee requests for Technical Assistance (TA) from various government entities and executive agencies to enhance their capacity and support MDB lending.
  • Analyze and evaluate Project Proposal Reports (PPR), securing necessary clearances from relevant authorities.
  • Present proposals to the department's decision-making bodies for approval, ensuring alignment with the goals of international financial institutions.
  • Manage and provide strategic direction for a diverse portfolio of projects, typically ranging from 15-20 projects with a total value of USD 10-15 billion.
  • Play a pivotal role in developing a robust project pipeline, aligning with the organization's long-term development goals.
  • I was responsible for developing and managing a pipeline of externally aided projects by coordinating with ministries, state governments, and MDBs.
  • This involved identifying priority projects, assessing readiness, facilitating the preparation of proposals, ensuring alignment with financing frameworks, and securing necessary approvals to advance projects for timely negotiation and implementation.
  • I facilitated smooth project execution by resolving clearance-related challenges, closely monitoring progress, and coordinating with stakeholders.
  • I actively participated in Tripartite Portfolio Review Meetings (TPRM) to address bottlenecks, ensure timely disbursements, and keep projects on track.
  • I handled projects across sectors like transport, urban development, health, energy, and disaster resilience, aligned with MDB priorities such as climate action, gender equity, and digital transformation, while supporting GoI goals on inclusive growth, infrastructure, and development of North Eastern and Himalayan States.
