Additional Information

  • I am a doctoral candidate at Indiana University Bloomington with a prominent interest in studying Braja Vaiṣṇavism and the role of poetics, music, and aesthetics in the devotional theism within Indian religiosity.
  • As a member of the direct lineage of Vallabhācārya, my scholarship mainly focuses on the orthopraxis of Puṣṭimārga and the Vedāntic hermeneutics of Śuddhādvaita. I am a practitioner of Vallabha Sampradāya, and her experience with the musical heritage and liturgical practices of the Puṣṭibhakti tradition provides rich ethnographic data for my study.
  • My first book, Mahārāsa Man͂juṣā: Sacred Poetry of the Divine Dance, presents an English translation of Nandadāsa’s exquisite poetic rendition of the Bhāgavata’s quintet on the mahārāsa. Find the book here: https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Maharasa-Manjusa/Prakriti-Goswami/9781647229191
  • I have assisted and taught a variety of courses at Indiana University: Introduction Hinduism (Spring 2021); Introduction to Religions of Asia (Fall 2021); Introduction to Islam (Spring 2022); Work Hard, Pray Hard (lesser known American Religions - Fall 2022); Introduction to Christianity (Spring 2023).
  • In two years of Ph.D. coursework, I also completed the mandatory Teaching Practicum Course that helps build courses, teach classes, and use innovative methods in class.
  • I also completed a minor in India Studies and a mandatory Cross-cultural Methodological Seminar that helps incorporating cross-cultural, post-colonial ideas in research and teaching.
