During this period has also worked in the field of public health by means of inspecting food of animal origin supplied to the defense forces. As young Capt/Maj has commanded Army Dog Units in Jammu & Kashmir during the peak militancy activities. The dog unit was awarded The Chief of Army Staff Unit Appreciation as best unit for it's commitment to fighting counter insurgency operation in highly active area and the officer was awarded Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card for his devotion to duty.
The officer was involved with breeding and management of Military Dairy Farms at Ahmednagar, Nashik and Pune. He was responsible for breeding operations and management of health of cattle herd of about 1000 animals. Handled day-day running ensuring high levels of productivity and progression.
Also involved in breeding of horses and mules for Indian army while as officer in charge of Breeding operation at Equine Breeding Farm of army. Was responsible for breeding management and health care aspects of about 900 horses and also administration of about 150 civilian staff.
Commanded NCC unit of army at Guwahati and as Officer Commanding was responsible for imparting adventure training like horse riding, map reading, jungle training army basic training to the NCC cadets and thus motivating them to join the Indian Army.
