• Collect external (customer, standards) and internal (rolling stock) requirements, allocates them to the technical teams.
• Define the architecture and functionalities of the traction drive or auxiliary converter system, taking as input the internal and external requirements.
• Allocates – while optimizing the cost - the transverse requirements (EMC, acoustics, reliability, safety, weight) to the various traction or auxiliary functions, in close collaboration with experts and RAMS engineers.
• Ensure consistency and compatibility between all traction or auxiliary functional specifications by verifying every FRS and every component specification and by participating in all design reviews.
• Organizes, prepares, and leads the system design review and identify the technical risks.
• Support the traction or auxiliary PrEM for implementation or update of the technical part of the risk mitigation plan.
• Ensures that the constructional & functional traction or auxiliary configuration is compliant with requirements (verification).
• Participates in technical meetings with customer in order to provide support to the Sub-System Manager and / or PrEM.
• Analyses technical issues and proposes solutions during the commissioning and the reliability growth phase.
• Provides Return of Experience to be implemented in Reference Solutions. Contributes to the RoE committee and documentation update.

• Providing timely support on stage wise deliverables as per the schedule like Requirement Specification Document, HW System Architecture Document details into functional block diagram, Preliminary Design Report (PDR), Critical Design Report (CDR), Detailed Design Report (DDR).
• Responsible for HW design schematics, simulation, DFMEA, BOM, Worst case analysis, test plan, test specifications, defined PCB stack up for and providing guidelines to PCB team.
• Drive the cross-functional team to deliver to achieve assigned project/activity targets within boundaries of time, cost and Quality. Work with suppliers to design and develop requirement to accomplish major milestone.
