Development Of Chitosan Based film is a project that focus mainly on environmental sustainability, The main objective of this project is to develop a bio degradable film that can be rapped on to fruits and vegetable to increase is life time, As chitosan is naturally available bio polymer with antimicrobial nature it can be used to develop film rather conventional film which are non biodegradable, but the main set back of chitosan based film is its tensile strength which is very low compared to conventional film, this project tried to increase the tensile strength of the film by adding cellulose derived from ground nut shell powder as ground shell is waste thus not affecting environment as well as cost effective. The addition cellulose to chitosan has significantly showed positive results in increasing tensile strength as well as it is naturally antimicrobial nature it has helped to increase the sustainability of food that is packed.
