• Topic: Investigate the role of FITM2 in the assembly of Lipid Droplet (LD) biogenesis machinery at ER subdomains
• Summary: We investigated if sequestered DAG/TAG by FITM2 at LD biogenesis sites in the ER in turn facilitates recruitment of yeast TAG synthesis enzyme Lro1 at these sites
• This was achieved through in silico structure function analysis of Lro1 using human orthologue, lecithin-cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT) structure as template to determine molecular docking analysis of lipid substrate such as DAG/TAG to wild-type and catalytic site mutants of Lro1
