I’m Prateek Patil, an entrepreneur deeply involved in driving innovation and sustainable practices across traditional and emerging industries. I work across various ventures under the Rajaram Group, focusing on agriculture, renewable solutions, and circular economy models.
I currently serve as the Chairman of our group’s sugar factory, which has been a cornerstone of rural economic development in the region. Beyond sugar production, the factory is actively expanding into areas like ethanol generation, green energy, and integrated agro-industrial operations. I oversee strategic planning and modernisation efforts to ensure the factory not only supports farmers but also leads in sustainability and innovation.
Alongside this, I work as Vice President – Business Development at Rajaram Solvex Ltd, one of Maharashtra’s most trusted and long-standing edible oil and solvent extraction companies. My responsibilities include growing the business, building partnerships, and managing operational finance and budgeting to ensure sustainable profitability.
I also founded Chatak Innovations, an agri-tech venture delivering drone-based spraying and field monitoring solutions. Our UAV platform helps farmers adopt precision agriculture, reduce input costs, and improve efficiency. The goal is to make advanced technology accessible to even small-scale farmers.
Additionally, I’m a Partner at Morphe Energies, where we focus on recycling and reengineering industrial plastic waste for use across various industries. I lead operations and financial oversight, ensuring our solutions are both economically and environmentally sustainable.
I also hold a director role at Rajaram Sales & Services in an observational and advisory capacity, supporting alignment of legacy systems with modern strategies.
My work is driven by the belief that with the right mix of tradition, technology, and intent, we can build industries that are both impactful and future-ready.
Strategic Innovation & Modernisation
Under my leadership, we’ve rolled out several forward-thinking initiatives:
• Implemented drip irrigation over 1,500+ acres, with structured financial planning including subsidies, low-interest loans, and farmer-friendly repayment schemes, making advanced irrigation accessible and impactful
• Introduced AI-based tools in sugarcane farming to optimise productivity for both small and large farmers
• Deployed drones for crop scouting and precision spraying
• Integrated GIS and remote sensing for effective cane monitoring and planning
• Commissioned a 32 TPH incineration boiler, achieving Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) status
• Installed a 1 MW rooftop solar plant to strengthen our clean energy capabilities
• Established HR department in the factory to enhance employee welfare and organisational development
• Implemented a subsurface drainage system over 160 acres, converting saline land into fertile, productive fields for poor and marginal farmers
Efficiency & Process Optimisation
We’ve introduced SOPs to improve mill efficiency, sugar recovery, and reduce energy use. Lean manufacturing, preventive maintenance, and data analytics are now central to our decision-making and operational strategy.
Revenue Diversification
To reduce dependency on sugar, we’ve expanded into:
• Ethanol production under the Ethanol Blending Program (EBP)
• Co-generation of power from bagasse
• Value-added products such as packaged sugar, compost, and bio-fertilizers
Farmer & Stakeholder Engagement
Timely cane payments and strong farmer relations are central to our approach. I actively promote:
• Drone spraying, smart irrigation, and climate-smart farming
• Carbon credit schemes, incentivising sustainable practices like organic composting and reduced tillage
• Farmer exposure tours and input study programs to improve awareness, best practice adoption, and agronomic understanding
• Assistance in navigating subsidies, improving financial literacy, and accessing agri-tech support through partnerships with government bodies, banks, and startups
Financial Oversight
I review budgets, capital expenditures, and audit reports to ensure financial health. I also help secure funding for large-scale green initiatives and farmer support programs.
Sustainability & Community Development
We continue to drive:
• Clean energy initiatives, waste reduction, and water conservation
• Community-driven CSR programs in education, healthcare, and vocational training
• Sustainability programs tied to measurable carbon credits and long-term environmental impact
