Work History

Ph.D. Researcher

Amity University
Gurgaon, Haryana
01.2019 - Current
  • To find out the Multi-Drug Resistance (MDR) mechanism in the Candida auris species
  • Investigated drug resistance mechanisms in Candida auris using directed evolution and advanced molecular techniques
  • Conducted phenotypic characterizations, including drug susceptibility profiles, growth kinetics, and morphology, while utilizing RNA Sequencing to analyze gene expression changes, performing Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) to identify mutations, and conducting karyotyping to detect chromosomal rearrangements and aneuploidy associated with resistance development
  • Analyzed lipid profiles using high-throughput LC-MS to identify changes in sphingolipids and phospholipids, and utilized GC-MS to assess the sterol profile of evolved strains, contributing to resistance mechanisms
  • Investigating a novel sugar transporter gene potentially linked to azole resistance in clinical and evolved Candida auris isolates, analyzing its role in antifungal resistance mechanisms, identifying specific mutations or genetic variations driving resistance, and exploring its potential as a therapeutic target to combat drug resistance

M.Sc. Researcher

Graphic Era University
Dehradun, India
08.2015 - 07.2017
  • Characterized multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) at the cellular and molecular level, diagnosed Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) from patient samples, and identified novel drugs using bioinformatics
  • Utilized bioinformatics to study rice metallothionein (MT) binding pockets, generate homology models, identify binding sites, and perform molecular docking with heavy metals

Intern

01.2015 - 03.2015
  • Completed three months of hands-on training in plant tissue culture with Rosa hybrida, gaining expertise in explant collection, sterilization, media preparation, inoculation, sub-culturing, and successfully harvesting cultured plants in a natural environment
