Began career with the Hybrid Synchronous Condenser project, focusing on integrating STATCOM and synchronous condenser systems with coordinated control in PSCAD.

  • Successfully modeled and tested system performance under various grid conditions and fault scenarios.
  • Gained experience with the PSCAD simulation tool.

Promoted to the ongoing E-STATCOM development project within the Protection Team based on performance.

  • Responsible for system-level protection design and implementation using Hi-Draw (Hitachi Energy’s proprietary tool) for the MACH controller.
  • Developed and tested multiple protection functions such as Differential, Overvoltage, Undervoltage, Residual, and several others tailored to system requirements.
  • Conducted rigorous testing to ensure stability and security across diverse network conditions and fault cases.

PG Project (Major): Design and Development Of a Non-Isolated Universal On-Board Charger Compatible with DC and AC Grid Sources.

  • Objective: To develop a flexible On-Board charger capable of compatibility with AC 1-phase and AC 3-phase grid sources, as well as DC input supply.

UG Project (Major): Reactive Power Control in a laboratory-scaled IEEE 5 bus system using Static VAR Compensator (SVC).

  • Objective: To find the least voltage bus in an interconnected system and improve the voltage at that particular bus using SVC.
  • Tools and technique used: SVC, STM32f407 Microcontroller, MATLAB, PI controller


UG Project (Minor): Automatic power factor monitoring and improvement using Raspberry Pi.

  • Duration: 02/2019 - 04/2019
  • Objective: To monitor the power factor of a system and bring it to unity using capacitor banks, with Raspberry Pi as a controller.
  • Tools and technique used: Zero Crossing Detector, Raspberry Pi, 4 channel Relay, capacitor banks


UG Project (Minor): Optimization of Price area congestion management on a three-area network in deregulated power system.

  • Duration: 04/2020 - 3 weeks
  • Objective: To find price area congestion to regulate the power flow under its limit in a transmission line with maximum global welfare.
  • Tools and technique used: MATLAB, DC load flow, Optimization tool (Genetic Algorithm)

  • Objective: Monitor the surrounding temperature and automatically turn on or turn off a heater or cooler according to the desired temperature.
