- To impart training to all the stakeholders on planning and implementation of Watershed Programme for building and maintaining rural infrastructure, providing livelihood security, skill development, employment generation, integrated use of natural resources.
- Conducting training programmes on other priority programmes of the Government (viz. MGNREGA, Forest Rights Act-2006, Drug Abuse & Substance Use, GIS Applications in RD, GPDP etc.).
- Establishment Officer (handling all the assignments related to establishment issues).
- Nodal Officer (Training & Research)- handling the research projects and training related assignments (other than conducting training programmes).
- Build and manage knowledge assets to facilitate learning and development.
- Preparation of reading material, modules, trainers’ manuals, dissemination of information, research, action oriented research, documentation and reporting.
- Engaged in the research and documentation of the field based studies (e.g. Evaluation studies, Case studies, Comparative studies related to Watershed Projects).
- Prepare, print, publish and distribute manuals, guidelines related to the Watershed Projects.

- Impact study of climate change on the key indicator species, specifically on Rhododendron arboretum with the aim to predict the chances of survival for these Rhododendron species when temperate and other climatic conditions changes.
- In long-term, to develop a database or updation in the existing database taking into account various factors of climate like temperature, humidity, soil properties (mainly pH) and vegetative distribution of other flora present in the Rhododendron community.
- Involved in creating an interactive Geo-Portal depicting the land use, land cover, lithology, geo- morphology and drainage/ watershed upto tehsil level in the State of Himachal Pradesh.
