Work History

Research Assistant

University of Florida, College of Medicine
02.2023 - Current

MicroSegNet: A deep learning approach for prostate segmentation on micro-ultrasound images

  • Conducted meticulous manual prostate segmentation on micro-ultrasound (micro-US) images for patients, ensuring high-quality ground truth annotations.
  • As a annotator my segmentation achieved a Dice Similarity Coefficient (DSC) of 0.923, serving as a strong benchmark. MicroSegNet outperformed this with a DSC of 0.939, demonstrating its ability to achieve near-expert-level accuracy in automated prostate segmentation.

RetinaRegNet: A zero-shot approach for retinal image registration

  • Conducted precise manual ground truth annotation for Laser Speckle Flowgraphy (LSFG) images, ensuring accurate point correspondences for retinal image registration and aiding in the validation of multi-modal alignment.
  • RetinaRegNet achieved an AUC of 86.1% on LSFG images, demonstrating its effectiveness in aligning LSFG images for tracking eye disease progression.

Student Intern

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS
12.2018 - 03.2019
  • Conducted research on thermal energy harvesting for biomedical wearables, focusing on utilizing thermoelectric generators (TEG) to convert body heat into electrical energy.
  • Designed and optimized a boost converter circuit, increasing the harvested voltage from mV levels to up to 9.7V, enabling battery charging for biomedical devices.
  • Presented findings at the 7th IEEE Symposium and published research in the International Conference on AI for Smart Communities (Springer Nature).
  • Collaborated with mentors and instructors, managing multiple tasks while consistently meeting deadlines and strengthening communication skills.
