Project # 1: National Coverage Project Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

  • Project Overview: This project involves a comprehensive analysis of geographic features in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) using ArcGIS Pro 3.0.
  • Analyzing Spatial and Temporal Changes: The primary goal is to examine both the spatial (where) and temporal (when) changes in geographic features, such as land use, land cover, urban development, natural features, and infrastructure, across the country.
  • Spatial changes-: refer to the physical alteration of geographic features, such as urban expansion, deforestation, or changes in water bodies.
  • Temporal changes-: involve how these features have evolved over time, identifying trends, such as expansion or contraction of certain land types, over specific periods.
  • Using Change Detection Techniques and ArcGIS Pro Geoprocessing Tools. Change detection techniques allow the identification of changes between two or more time periods by comparing satellite images, aerial photographs, or other spatial data.
  • ArcGIS Pro's powerful suite of geoprocessing tools is employed to analyze and refine the data. These tools include functions like buffering, overlay analysis, spatial joins, and raster calculations that help manipulate and update the spatial data.

Project # 2: POI Data Management & Analysis

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collected, cleaned, and validated large-scale POI datasets for use in mapping platforms, navigation systems, and location-based services.
  • Digitized and geocoded POIs such as businesses, landmarks, and infrastructure using GIS software and satellite imagery.

Project Title: Mapping Mangrove Extent and Change Detection Using GIS Techniques

Description: The objectives of this research is to map out the distribution of the mangroves and to detect the change in areas of mangroves in Lito Dudepo Island during the last 4 years (2016 -2020) and this study on Mapping Mangrove Extent and Change Detection using GIS Technology was carried out using Sentinal-2 data. It is quite important to understand how human alter and use these ecosystems as so many species including human depend on mangroves forest.

MINOR Project

Project Title: Traffic management in Delhi through ARC GIS 

Mentor: V L NARASIMHAM

Description: Various factors influence the speed of vehicles on the road. Mapping out these factors can help in the assessment and management of traffic congestion. GIS has been used to identify various roadside friction points that impact vehicle speed on some of the urban arterials in Delhi.
