Projects Contributed

  • Designed and made a low cost Pitot static testing probe made of only scrape PVC pipes and a handmade pump to test the instruments related to the Pitot static system on the helicopter (KAMOV Ka-20).
  • Study of the aerodynamic properties of a formula 1 car’s front wing using a wind tunnel and the similitude principle.
  • Design and development of a telemetry system that transmits data wirelessly regarding the pitch and roll rates of an aircraft and also uses accelerometers to find and transmit accelerations on the aircraft.
  • Design and development of an autonomous airship which uses GPS guidance and can be used for remote surveillance. The payload also has weather sensing equipment. The automation was done using an Arduino micro controller.
  • A MATLAB code had been created using extended finite element concept to analyze the various cases of study for the variable stiffness composite panel. The cases are generated by changing the fiber angles, aspect ratio, temperature, moisture concentration, and the number of layers. The results are analyzed of the effect of variation of the above mentioned parameters. This project was done under guidance of engineers at Tech Mahindra, Electronic City Bangalore.
  • Performance Analysis of Suction Airfoil and Computational Flow Visualization of Co-Flow Jet Airfoil to check performance and flow patterns.
