As Jr. The Transformer Testing Engineer conducts routine, type, and special tests on transformers to ensure they meet performance and safety standards.

My duties include setting up test equipment, executing tests like insulation resistance and turns ratio, winding resistance, MB Vector Group, analyzing results, troubleshooting failures, preparing test reports and certificates, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities.

• Perform routine and specialized tests : Conduct a range of tests on various transformers (e.g., distribution, power), including routine tests, type tests, and special tests. This includes tests for insulation strength, current resistance, loss of current, turns ratio, and temperature rise.
• Conduct functional and diagnostic testing : Verify that transformers perform according to specifications, and diagnose potential issues to improve reliability.
• Analyze test results: Accurately interpret data from testing equipment, and compare it against benchmarks.
• Prepare documentation: Create and maintain test reports, test certificates, and calibration records for testing equipment.
• Ensure compliance: Guarantee that products meet industry standards, safety regulations, and customer expectations.
• Manage customer and internal inspections: Coordinate and host customer inspections, and manage internal activities, such as NABL activities.
• Set up test circuits and operate equipment: Configure the necessary test circuits, and operate a variety of testing equipment.
• Coordinate with other departments: Liaise with customers, sales, and production teams to ensure smooth operations.

Skills and qualifications.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

From Babaria Institute of Technology (pass out - 10.08.2024).

• Testing expertise : Proficiency in setting up and conducting electrical tests, including knowledge of routine tests like insulation resistance and turns ratio, winding resistance, MB Vector Group, analyzing results, special tests like Tan Delta and dielectric frequency response, SFRA, Acoustic Noise Level, Harmonics, and type tests such as Temperature Rise Test.
• Teamwork and communication : The ability to work effectively with others, and coordinate with different departments.
• Software knowledge: Familiarity with software like AutoCAD 2D can be beneficial for reading drawings.
• Equipment handling : Manual dexterity, and the ability to operate and maintain testing equipment safely and accurately.
