Core Responsibility In Customer Service - Responsibilities

  • Monitoring order income, order cancellations on daily basis and accordingly communicating to sales and marketing in case of any deviation.
  • Production planning on weekly basis depending upon the customer orders and raw material availability.
  • Balancing of production capacities in system so as to ensure uniform lead times to customers in different regions. While doing this it is ensured that production will not be overloaded.
  • Co-coordinating with production for uniform loading and have implemented a tool named box-planning to avoid frequent changeovers on machines. This has helped production to have smooth flow of production orders and also helped in reduction of WIP.
  • Circulation of non-moving finished good stocks to sales and getting orders for the same so as to liquidate the inventory.
  • In case of non-moving raw material, circulating the list of material to sales and marketing which can be manufactured using the same and getting the orders so as to reduce the inventory and also provision made for the same in book of accounts.
  • Co-coordinating with R & D and Engg for use of slow-moving and non-moving raw material to be used as alternative in other products so as to consume the same faster and achieve inventory reduction
  • Implemented Kanban for local based vendors resulting in reduction of daily follow ups and also to avoid any shortages in production. For this stock levels are free zed which are checked by the supplier on daily basis and are replenished.
  • Monitoring of MRP settings in SAP on monthly basis depending on past consumption and accordingly making changes in safety stock levels and ordering qty which has helped to avoid procurement of excess raw material.
  • Monitoring of freight cost and monthly basis and keeping it under control and working for continuous reduction by proper forecasting of raw material as per the past consumption and orders in hand. In case of finished goods advance planning is done so as to manufacture the material early and dispatch the same by SEA for the customers placing bulk orders.
  • Close co-ordination with production to get right parts in time and ensuring timely delivery to customers as delivery performance is key indicator of factory performance.
  • Monitoring of variances in raw material consumption and informing the same to engineering in case of any deviation observed in Bill of Material.
  • Training production personnel’s for proper confirmation of production orders in system so as to control the WIP in shop floor and also FIFO of orders.
  • Continuously analyzing the consumption pattern and informing strategic purchase for development of cheaper sources and reducing imports to have better and effective control on inventory. When I took over the responsibility in CS we had 80% share of import raw material which is now reduced to just 20%.
