• Performed viability analysis, bank readiness capability gap assessment, business plan development and regulatory readiness guidance for a large auto sector financing company and for a broker dealer entity, planning to obtain a banking charter to further its ability to access bank deposits. Policy drafting, financial model review and enhancement and project management (including implementation plan development).

New Banking Products Launch (Including Digital Assets / Virtual Currency)

• Supported Banking and Fintech clients for Digital Assets product launch by designing target operating model, supporting understanding of regulatory considerations pertaining to digital currency, and defining regulatory licensing strategy across jurisdictions, prepare regulatory inventory, risks and controls inventory.
• Supported launch of Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) under CARES act by a US national bank. Developed loan credit underwriting model, forgiveness amount validation model and supporting detailed procedure documents. Conducted working sessions with different stakeholders and trained bank's team to facilitate implementation of models.

Regulatory & Operational Risk Management

• Product and transaction booking model optimization for US branch of a large Canadian bank in order to manage risk of booking products into incorrect legal entities leading to financial loss and regulatory non-compliance.
• Trading risk controls enhancement through establishing preventative and detective risk controls for an investment bank in order to manage risks of incorrect size/volume trades being executed, booking into incorrect legal entity, unauthorized products being booked etc.

Mergers and Acquisition

• Assisted acquisition of a US FBO (Foreign Banking Organization) by another US FBO and supported in integration planning, drafting Legal Day 1 workplans and high-level future state roadmaps , advised client on industry leading practices as well as risk and regulatory considerations
