- Place RFQ (Request for quotation) to shortlisted tool makers.
- Vendor assessment and selection based on quality, cost, delivery, and manufacturing capability.
- Cost & budget estimation for new tooling development.
- Evaluate technical input parameters and Coordinate DFM for development of PDC, injection Moulds, press tools etc.
- Tool Cost finalization and approval for new tools (Local & Overseas).
- Work closely with tool makers to resolve any Bottlenecks.
- Review mold designs and mould flow from vendors and provide necessary feedback to build efficient mold for production.
- Establish and maintain database of molds including CAD files/drawings for molds, mold flow records.
- Coordinate with manufacturing vendors to review mold testing.
- Develop and implement innovative methods, ideas and solutions that meet tooling and molding objectives.
- Assure tooling documents properly documented and distributed to manufacturers.
- Review engineering pilot samples on Moulding issues.
- Proficient in tool building and tool manufacturing processes.
- Thorough understanding of properties of various mold-making materials and tool component fabrication techniques.
- First part submission & tracking of new tool development & modifications.
- Manufacturing efficiency improvements like Cycle time reduction, Machine optimization and part weight reduction.
- Ensuring delivery of parts from suppliers and supporting supply chain in case of delivery issues.
- Ensure that Moulds and tools are developed to meet the quality and project schedule.
- Drive timely feedback to issues requested during production during the lifecycle of the tools.
- Review tracker of tools issue, Follow-up of the progress of issue closure with tool suppliers at each stage of tool development starting from first trial till mass production.
- Moulds approval and dispatches for Production Team.
