  • I'm a railway RAMS professional (Safety expert) almost 8 years of experience in RAMS engineering. My contributions to the RRTS/MRTS project as a Train RAMS Engineer (TRE) has given me an opportunity to expand my knowledge of the train systems, railway safety management, managing and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders i.e., Customer, General Consultants, ISA, suppliers, signalling and other interfacing parties. Alstom has recognized me as a World Class Expert (Safety) in early 2023. Currently I have been working as Train RAMS Engineer for X’trapolis project and RRTS/MRTS project. Additionally I've worked on various High Speed (VTM), Very High Speed (Zefiro Platform) and Monorail projects during my tenure. In principle, I have following key attributes to present:

  • Manage the Railway Safety activities and related deliverables during the RAMS V-cycle and ensuring to reach an acceptable level of risks as per the Alstom Safety policy

Train RAMS Engineer

  • Contributing as Train RAMS engineer for Xtrapolis2.0 project (Australia) and MRTS (Delhi)
  • Leading the RAMS activities and related deliverables of the project as per internal processes and customer needs
  • Key Contribution in Safety Analyses: Hazard Log: Monitoring and leading the ongoing Hazard Log activities in terms of obtaining the related evidence and reviewing the effectiveness of necessary safety requirements
  • The objective is to ensure the required level of maturity of Hazards (risk level to acceptable range) at each phase of project
  • Safety Related Application Condition (SRAC): Leading the management of SRACs driven from train level and sub-supplier level safety analyses
  • The objective is to ensure that SRACs are correctly understood and formally signed by respective scope-owners
  • Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)/ Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA): Ensuring the vehicle level quantitative analysis including FTA and FMECA are all in lined with the latest supplier inputs
  • Accountable for committing the updated or latest quantitative figures/failure rates to the end customer and Independent Safety Assessor (ISA)
  • Coordinating with Railway Safety contributors & External Stakeholders Obtained assessment reports from ISA Design level safety report for Xtrapolis and Final Safety report for MRTS Led detailed Face-to-Face workshops with Customer, Operator, ISA etc
  • Travelled to Melbourne -AUS for critical project milestones of Xtrapolis Planning to travel to Valenciennes- France for ISA discussions for safety certification of MRTS trains Successfully completed onsite safety audit by TUV India (ISA) for MRTS project
  • Ensuring preparedness of the reliability and safety design reviews as per the project schedule and follow-up the main open actions
  • So Far As Is Reasonably Practicable (SFAIRP) Demonstration: As per Rail Safety National Law (RSNL) and Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR) SFAIRP guideline, all reasonably foreseeable safety risks shall be eliminated, or where not reasonably practicable to do so, that the risks have been minimized SFAIRP
  • Developed SFAIRP arguments for all the Hazards identified at Rolling Stock level and obtained the concurrence from external stakeholders
  • Safety Case Development: Developed Safety Case till Design phase ensuring the verification activities, all the safety requirements, and the residual risk level for all identified hazards to acceptable range
  • The Safety Case is written in compliance with EN 50126 ensuring quality management, safety management and functional and technical safety
  • Any open items identified are well justified

  • Executed and led the RAMS activities throughout the life cycle starting from preliminary design till the start of revenue service (passengers service) for RRTS project
  • Was accountable for ensuring the adequacy of the RAMS deliverables for acceptance by the General Consultant (GC), Customer and ISA
  • Additionally, I was identified as Safety Leader to ensure the safety ranking and adequacy of corrective actions in place for Safety issues identified during train in revenue service
  • Management of Hazard Log and SRAC: Developed various Hazard analyses including Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Interface Hazard Analysis (IHA), Sub-system Hazard Analysis (SSHA) and Operating Hazard Analysis (OHA)
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating the Hazard Log including hazard identification, Risk assessment, evidence review and Hazard Closure
  • Review of verification and validation evidence required for closure of Hazards up to the acceptable range of residual risk
  • Witness the safety critical validation activities in RRTS Duhai Depot, including functional safety tests, Oscillation trails and Emergency Braking Distance test
  • Managed interface workshops for discussion and formal sign-off of exported requirements (SRACs) from Rolling Stock to interfacing parties
  • Safety Demonstration and ISA: Developed FTA and FMECA at train level including review of detailed train level electrical schematics and various other subsystems
  • Contributed to project execution for identification and elimination of Single Point Failures in Electrical Schematics
  • Developed Safety Case at different phases of project and obtained the evidence (Mean of Proof) required for quality management, technical and functional safety
  • Obtained Assessment reports from ISA at different phases of project and the final Safety Authorization for Revenue Service
  • Successfully demonstrated the process compliance at Design phase and passed the onsite site audit conducted during validation phase to ISA

Rolling Stock RAMS Engineer

  • Contributed as a Rolling Stock RAMS Engineer for various global projects including Bangkok Monorail, VTM and Zefiro
  • Responsible for managing RAMS Engineering Work Package which includes the specific Safety and Reliability activities of the Rolling stock scope
