As a scholar and artist in Manipuri dance, I am deeply committed to exploring its traditional and contemporary dimensions through academic research, choreography, and performance My work focuses on choreographic innovations, gender representation in dance, and the socio-cultural evolution of Indian classical performance traditions, aiming to bridge the gap between heritage and modern artistic expression

With extensive experience in paper presentations at national and international conferences, I seek to integrate my research into the academic curriculum of the performing arts My goal is to develop interdisciplinary teaching methodologies, combining practical training with theoretical insights, to provide a holistic learning experience for students

By utilizing digital tools, interactive media, and performance-based pedagogy, I aim to make traditional dance forms more accessible and engaging in university settings Additionally, I plan to explore choreographic storytelling, cross-cultural collaborations, and experimental theatre techniques to encourage innovative artistic expression among students

I strongly believe in incorporating the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) in art education, emphasizing Natya Shastra, yogic practices, aesthetic theories like Rasa and Bhava, and indigenous storytelling traditions By integrating these ancient methodologies with contemporary pedagogical tools, I aim to create a research-driven, practice-based approach that nurtures a deep-rooted, yet globally relevant understanding of Indian performing arts This approach will also help students develop a contextual awareness of classical and folk traditions, ensuring the preservation and evolution of India’s cultural heritage within academic institutions
