  • Peak Valley Plateau Quaternary Edge Pattern (PVPQEP): A new feature descriptor for medical image retrieval system, This project involves the study and analysis of textures in biomedical CT images. The performance of this descriptor in CT image retrieval from image databases is also investigated., Softwares: MATLAB, Microsoft-Office, Duration: 06/2014 - 05/2015
  • Local pattern based texture descriptors for retrieval of texture, face and biomedical images: This project involves the design and development of discriminant and low dimensional local pattern based texture feature descriptors for content based image retrieval systems. The objective is to incorporate more discriminant information into the image features without increasing their dimension so that accurate and faster image retrieval is achieved simultaneously. As outcome of the project, we proposed three descriptors that extract second order discriminant texture information from images. Besides, performance boosting strategies for feature descriptors namely multiple filtering and bit plane decomposition are investigated and subsequently four boosted feature descriptors are proposed. Moreover, to efficiently extract features from anisotropic textures present in the images, we also proposed three 3D plane based zigzag local patterns. Retrieval performance analysis of all these descriptors are finally carried out in various texture, face and medical CT image databases and are also compared with several existing techniques., Software: MATLAB, LATEX, Microsoft-Office, Duration: 09/2015 - 12/2021
