Ensure compliance with applicable EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) legal requirements and the effective implementation of Legatrix compliance management system.
Oversee the IMS (Integrated Management System) certification process, including coordination of internal and external audits and the implementation of all associated requirements.
Execute health and well-being initiatives at the plant such as medical check-up camps, mental wellness sessions, yoga sessions, CPR, and first aid training programs.
Organize and lead safety awareness campaigns, including observance of Environment Day, Road Safety Week, National Safety Week, Fire Safety Day, as well as poster competitions, quizzes, and other related contests.
Conduct safety induction and training programs for all staff and workmen. Identify EHS training needs, design annual training plans/calendars in coordination with HR and departmental heads, and manage training execution.
Carry out safety walk-downs with departmental officers to reinforce EHS culture and organize motivational programs for continuous engagement.
Lead the implementation and sustainment of digital EHS initiatives such as the Raksha App, BRSR App, digital kiosks, VR-based safety training, PPE violation alerts via cameras, e-work permits, and more.
Collect and compile ESG data necessary for BRSR (Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting) and ensure timely submission within the system.
Conduct EHS self-assessment audits and perform monthly inspections of lifting tools and tackles, material handling equipment (MHE), firefighting systems, hydra cranes, and fall prevention/protection equipment.
Facilitate weekly safety review meetings with the plant team, circulate minutes of the meeting (MOM), and track implementation of action points.
Prepare monthly EHS MIS reports, CEO narrative reports, and self-assessed EHS scorecards for performance tracking and reporting.
