• Conduct comprehensive due diligence on equity strategies and funds, including scheduling and preparing for meetings with portfolio managers, CIOs, CEOs, and analysts.
• Coverage includes Global Equities, Global Emerging Markets, Asia Pacific, Global Sector Funds, and Offshore India Equity Funds.
• Write detailed investment rating notes and thesis with clear recommendations, and present them to the rating committee.
• Author and publish Morningstar Medalist Ratings (forward-looking qualitative assessments), and analyst notes to reflect key updates and developments for funds under coverage.
• Monitor existing investments regularly, and initiate enhanced oversight for strategies undergoing material changes.
• Engage in fund discovery to identify prospective managers, and contribute to Asset Class Reviews alongside other investment teams and business units.
• Collaborate with and advise the Morningstar Manager Selection and Morningstar Investment Management teams on manager selection and replacement decisions.
• Contribute to thought leadership through media commentary, research insights, conference participation, and client interactions.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior analysts, support the development of best practices, and participate in the hiring process.
• Stay informed on market developments, industry trends, and regulatory changes to ensure timely and informed investment decisions.

• Mutual Fund Research, Due Diligence, and Fund Selection: Responsible for conducting in-depth mutual fund research, due diligence, and selection for third-party fund houses, with a primary focus on the U.S. market.
• Lead Analyst for U.S. Equities Fund Coverage: Act as the dedicated point of contact for the U.S. Equities, ensuring the platform maintains a robust shelf of high-conviction strategies. Proactively identify and address gaps in fund coverage.
• Ongoing Oversight and Reporting: Regularly monitor the platform, and provide updates to senior leadership on fund performance, market developments, and coverage changes.
• Collaboration with HSBC Private Bank: Work closely with HSBC Private Bank to support manager selection and termination decisions, ensuring alignment with investment objectives, and client needs.

• Conducted investment due diligence, fund research, portfolio performance reporting, market and economic reviews, and fund attribution analysis.
• Led a team of two junior analysts, with full people management responsibilities, for a six-month period.
