  • Research Project: Design and Fabrication of Floating Trash Skimmer - This project involves design, development and testing of an autonomous trash skimmer boat. The boat will be equipped with a paddle wheel mechanism to navigate through water bodies to collect waste and debris. The collected waste will be stored in a collection tray for proper disposal, ensuring the proper disposal or recycling of wastes in an environmentally friendly manner. It includes determining strategic locations along the river for deploying the skimmer, considering factors such as pollution hotspots and flow patterns. The scope extents to establishing proper mechanism for managing the collected trash, ensuring it's appropriate disposal or recycling. It is a reliable, efficient and cost effective solution for removing floating trash from bodies of water such as fishery plant, temple tank, ponds and lakes remotely from the shore.
  • Research Project: Simulation and Modeling of Magnetic Assisted - Abrasive Flow Finishing (AFF) is one of the non conventional finishing processes in which a semi-solid medium consisting of a visco-elastic polymer and abrasive particles mixed in a definite proportion. This media is extruded under pressure through or across the surface to get the required finish. It has been employed for high level surface removal of the recast layer and also for deburring. Demand for the super finishing can be justified by AFF, the excessive thermal damage caused by conventional machining process can be avoided. Material is removed by Micro-chipping and Micro-ploughing when abrasives hit on the workpiece wall. In magnetic assisted abrasive flow finishing, the magnetic field is applied around the workpiece and the magnetic abrasive particles are used, hence the interaction of abrasive on the workpiece will be more compared to AFF. The main objective of this project is to simulate the magnetic field intensity over the workpiece, to simulate the pressure distribution due to the flow parameters and to simulate the motion of abrasive particles in magnetic abrasive flow finishing and find the strain rate over the workpiece.
