• Improved the bearing life by doing timely overhauling, using right qty & quality of grease, changing seals as per actual condition, using gasket of proper thickness during overhauling of chock & bearings, regularly changing the load zone & sequence during overhauling.
• We made a bearing washing machine by our company inward product. By the help of this we save more than 100 liter diesel per month.
• We brought the roll consumption to optimum level mill wise.

• Planning & execution of roll grinding as per rolling schedule.
• Communication with Mill in-charge on roll changing schedule.
• Checking availability of all stands Roll.
• Ensure all the material handling in Roll Shop is as per SOP and the lifting tools & tackles are well calibrated and getting inspected on daily basis as per the check list.
• Maintain Wheel consumption record, even a particular roll wise and Oil consumption record.
• Bearing maintenance and servicing: Ensure that the bearings are taken for overhauling as per the schedule tonnage or time.
• Inspection of bearings, chock and seals during de-chocking & chocking.
• Servicing/overhauling of chocks and bearings report/check sheet preparation for all mills (CRM & SPM) separately.
• Other activities of bearing area as well as document update of bearing work in shift.
• Responsible for smooth function of Assembly, Servicing, & Maintenance of all the Cold Rolling Mills, HR SPM & CGL SPM.
• Planning for schedule & overhauling maintenance of Chocking – De-chocking Machines, Cranes, chock tilter and other major equipment.
• Preventive, periodic servicing of all types of chocks and bearing.
• Inventory & cost control.
